AngleMetric — Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-07-05. Version 2026-07-05-v1.

This Privacy Policy explains how the AngleMetric application (the “App”) handles information. In short: the App is designed to keep your data on your device. It does not run analytics or advertising SDKs, and it does not sell your data.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

The App captures droplet images with your device camera and computes contact-angle measurements from them. Measurement records — including the computed values, capture settings, any sample metadata and notes you enter, and an annotated still image — are stored locally in an on-device database. This data is not transmitted anywhere by default and is removed when you delete the App (subject to any copies you have exported or saved yourself).

2. Camera

Camera access is used solely to capture and analyze droplet images in real time. Image processing happens on your device. Images are not uploaded by the App unless you explicitly enable an optional export or webhook feature (see below) or save them yourself.

3. Photo Library

If you enable saving to your photo library, the App writes annotated measurement images to your device’s photo roll. The App only adds images; it does not read your existing photos.

4. Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Touch ID)

For regulated (21 CFR Part 11) configurations, the App can require biometric authentication to attribute a saved measurement to an operator. Biometric matching is performed entirely by iOS; the App never receives or stores your fingerprint or face data. The App stores only a non-biometric operator label derived on-device (e.g. an authentication-method tag and a local device identifier) alongside the record.

5. Optional Enterprise Webhook

Enterprise configurations may enable a webhook that transmits measurement records, as JSON, to an HTTPS endpoint that you configure. This feature is disabled by default. When enabled, data is sent only to the endpoint you specify; you are responsible for the privacy and security of that destination.

6. Export & Sharing

You can export measurement data (for example as a CSV file) or share an image using the standard iOS share sheet. Any data you export or share leaves the App at your direction and is thereafter handled by the destination you choose.

7. Purchases

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple and by our payments provider, RevenueCat. These providers process purchase and receipt information under their own privacy policies. The App does not receive your payment card details.

8. Network Requests

The App fetches its Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy from entropymetrics.com over HTTPS. These requests do not include your measurement data or personal information. If the device is offline, a bundled copy is used.

9. Children

The App is intended for research, laboratory, educational, and professional use and is not directed to children.

10. Data Retention & Deletion

Records persist on your device until you remove them within the App or delete the App. Regulated configurations use an append-only, tamper-evident ledger: in that mode records are logically voided (with a reason) rather than hard deleted, to preserve audit integrity.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. The current version is available in the App and at entropymetrics.com.
